The Power of Perseverance

The power to push through to the end is often called "grit" or "staying power." Here are three key elements to cultivate and maintain this:

Visualization and concretization of goals: Vague resolutions quickly lead to exhaustion. It's crucial to vividly imagine yourself reaching your final destination and break down your large goal into very small units (micro-goals), focusing on what you can do today.

"System" over motivation: Willpower is a finite resource. Instead of relying on willpower, it's important to create routines that make you act automatically at specific times. It's about creating a state of "just doing it," rather than "doing it when you feel like it."

Resilience: Slumps and failures are inevitable in the process of perseverance. Instead of blaming yourself, accepting them as part of the process and having the ability to get back on track is the source of the power to go all the way.

As the saying goes, "Don't be afraid of going slowly, be afraid of giving up midway." More important than speed is maintaining direction and continuing to move forward. What is the smallest step you can take right now?
